The second Golfround, and
Summer "Rodeln".....
Today we played the course in Bad Kleinkirchheim (mouth full eh?) A typical Ski Resort, but in Summer also very busy. Beside the mountain slopes two thermal baths belong to the local "specialties" .....
The golf office has put us together with Uschi and Stefan, who were our flight-partners for this round. Coming from Vienna for a week, playing some days golf, they turned out to be the perfect flight partners, helpful, social and good fun !!! This is the way I like to play in flights, but ofcourse you always have to wait and see, but this time the chemistry worked just fine....
This Par 72 course had 5700 meter on the scorecard. 400 meter more then the previous day. The course is situated in a valley and has some very nice (hazard) surprises..... The front 9 were the most difficult, but what to say (right image) from these nice tight fairways at the back nine ???? It was definitively not a free lunch here !!
Specially today we were VERY glad to
have the golf carts. Some say it is not sportive, but please book yourself a round here
and just walk all the mountains UP & DOWN, haha !! You will find out and also
appreciate the shuttle bus between the 16th and 17th Hole (guess why they offer this
service :-)
Again, great views, as the course is somewhat on the mountain slopes. At the right
a good example of the fairways.......
Not sure this ball will fit the hole :-) ............ Some holes were absolutely ok to use the driver and hammer the ball over 240 meter
As you can see, Uschi and Stefan did not loose their good spirit, even if their score was not their record today :-).....
After all the hard work we enjoyed the 19th hole and take a few good drinks and tasteful snacks....

During the Lunch conversation we found out that Uschi has here own jewelry shop in Vienna and is a goldsmith herself. So I insisted to make some advertisement here. The ring with a more than 2 carat stone is ofcourse home brew..... You can find more at here WEB Site .... (actually 2 WEB Sites) So support here Golf-Hobby and order a few of those please...
Too early to go back to the hotel, we
made some fun at the Summer Rodel Bahn. Normally you do this when there is snow, but you
need tourism and income also in the summer, so there we go... 6 Rides for 26 Euro....
including the skilift up the mountain.... Is this cheap or expensive? I can't say. Austria
for sure is not appearing to be cheap, but you get used to it very quickly I must say !
As you can read on the sign LEFT, (or not if you do not understand German) this is
a 1.100 meter long ride (the longest in the universe or so...) altitude difference almost
200 meter and 33 curves. Good to know eh? Oh almost forgot the 15%-25% slope. But I found
out the aspects of the 25% slope very quickly....
As you can see here, you go up with the ski lift and than take one of the sledges on small wheels and...
OFF YOU GO !!! ofcourse Erik was much faster and I was silly enough to go fast where you should NOT go fast, so I lost the sledge in a curve and played sledge my self..... Nothing serious beside some skin on my elbow and knee ripped off...... Getting old he? hahaha ! I am sure this will hunting me the rest of the vacation (and who knows much longer....)
So this was the 2nd day, it feels already like we are here for weeks now. That is what you call vacation !!!!!
